Sierra Nevada State Championships, Aug 17, 2003...
TWO first places were given to half-brothers
FLYWAY'S OCTOBER PARDNER MH*** ("Opie")
and
FLYWAY'S AMERICAN FLYER ("Keeper").
Opie won 1st Place in the Gun Dog stake. Last
year Opie won the Open stake. This year Opie could
not run the Open because Don was judging it. But
at the last moment Sunday morning, Don entered him
in the gun dog stake which was to run later in the
day after Derby ran.
Keeper won 1st Place in the Derby at exactly 14
mo. of age (Keeper born on June 17, 2002). Then
Don took Opie to the gun dog stake, where Opie
pinned every bird in all series, and one-whistled
the blind.
All in all, it was a GREAT weekend for Don and
the boys.
